Our Story

Charis Bhavan at Athirampuzha is a well-known MSFS retreat and renewal centre in Kerala, making God-experience a reality for thousands of people who seek God’s presence and grace. It was founded in 1989 by Fr. James Manjackal who was also its first Director. His vision and zeal for the spiritual renewal and empowerment of the people have borne rich results over the years. It is the only retreat centre of such quality that MSFS have all over the world. Ever since its inception, it has been a living response to the needs of the people. It is helping thousands of people to solve or face their social, economic, domestic, psychological and spiritual problems.

MSFS

The Congregation of the Missionaries of St. Francis de sales (MSFS/Fransalians) was founded at Annecy in France on 24th October, 1838 by the Servant of God, Fr. Peter Marie Mermier under the patronage of St. Francis de sales. It was the realization of the long- cherished desire of Fr. Mermier, an apostle of parish missions.

Today the Missionaries of St. Francis de sales (MSFS) is a large congregation spread over many countries in the world, rendering valuable services to the humanity by holding on to its charism of living the spirit and spirituality of Saint Francis de slaes in our mission through the triple apostolates.
